SASANIAN KINGS. Bahram IV, 388-399. Pashiz (Bronze, 18 mm, 2.19 g). Draped bust of Bahram IV, to right, wearing winged mural crown with korymbos; before bust, tamgha. Rev. Fire altar with diadems. Cf. SNS III, pl. 44, 85 var. (differing symbol before bust). Extremely rare. Heavy traces of overstriking and with cleaning marks, otherwise, very fine.

This coin was overstruck on a follis of the Roman Emperor Valentinian I (367-375) with considerable parts of the undertype still visible (D N VALEN[...] on the obverse).
